For more than four decades, the Sabi Sabi Collection has been synonymous with immersive safari experiences in the Greater Kruger. This October, the family-owned brand opened its first city property - The Claremont Boutique Hotel in Cape Town.

Set in a 1928 manor house designed by Magdalena Gertrude Sauer, one of South Africa’s first female architects, The Claremont combines heritage and contemporary South African style. Its 15 individually designed rooms, including the exclusive Sauer Villa, offers a quiet retreat where service is warm, personal, and unhurried.

Alongside its rooms, the hotel’s gathering places are set to make it a new social hub in Claremont. The Veld & Vine Bistro will serve a brasserie-style, farm-to-fork menu championing seasonal ingredients from regional farmers. The Koffiehuis offers curated coffee and traditional high tea, while the 1928 Craft wine celebrates South Africa’s wine culture from small-batch discoveries to renowned vineyard favourites alongside classic cocktails, small-batch gin, and craft beer.

Guests can relax in the conservatory or library, enjoy the gardens and pool, or explore nearby Kirstenbosch Gardens, Constantia wine farms, and the Atlantic seaboard.

Following the opening of The Claremont, Sabi Sabi will continue to grow with the highly anticipated Sandringham Private Game Reserve in Limpopo - a former hunting reserve now being reimagined as a thriving biosphere and safari destination, set to open in summer 2026.
