No. 7 Upper Lansdown has launched as a private Mews House now available for exclusive rental in Bath. From Ian and Christa Taylor, owners of The Kaleidoscope Collection behind acclaimed hotels Homewood and The Bird, Bath, this two-bedroom bolthole is just a 10-minute stroll from the centre of Bath itself and is tucked in a quiet Mews behind Lansdown Crescent, one of the city’s finest examples of Georgian architecture.
As per the signature of Ian Taylor’s designs, this intimate Mews House is beautifully designed with bursts of colour, rich fabrics, elegantly crafted furniture and curated collections of art and artefacts. If not tempted by the rich gourmet offering found in Bath’s restaurant scene, the perfectly formed kitchen has everything the keen chef needs to create a stay-at-home feast through to a Nespresso machine for their morning coffee.
The dining room has a table comfortably seating six, while the library of books lining the wall provides material to snuggle up on the sofas come the evenings. The cosy living room with its rich colour palette and captivating art work draws the eye to its large fireplace with log burner with fully-stocked store of fuel. Tune into the latest films on the65-inch television with Sky, or turn off the tech and puzzle the mind instead with a game of chess or solitaire. Come the summer, spill out onto the private sun-drenched terrace with its Kamado Joe Grill, aromatic ‘pick your own’ herb planter and seating for six.
Guests will find it hard to leave the two bedrooms with their supremely comfortable super king Hypnos mattresses. Mood lighting is found throughout the house, designed by John Cullen Lighting. The elegant marble bathrooms have underfloor heating, rain showers, Dyson hairdryers and Ortigia Sicilia toiletries which burst with scent and colour.
Concierge services and housekeeping means guests will feel at ease during their stay. If they choose, guests are also able to add on chef or spa experiences at Homewood, Bath, the eclectic country house hotel set just 15 minutes outside of the city in the rolling Somerset countryside.
