Welcoming the akyra Manor Chiang Mai, Thailand
It’s now three weeks since the akyra Manor Chiang Mai opened its doors in Thailand’s northern capital and already there is a real buzz to the new hotspot of Nimmanhaemin.
The luxury five star, all-suite hotel is the result of a collaboration between the pioneering AKARYN Hotel Group and renowned Singaporean design house Manor Studio. Led by talented design visionary Chaw Chih Wen, the bold and edgy sophistication of the 30 guest suites provide an indulgent sanctuary, with spacious living areas and an outdoor bath in a ‘courtyard-within-a-room’ design.
Head up to the roof, and you can discover a hedonistic haven in the form of a hip rooftop pool bar, Rise. With creative mixology and a stunning glass walled pool, guests and locals alike can gaze over the city sky-line. Also making a great impression is the hotel’s flagship dining experience, ITALICS, offering a clever interpretation of contemporary Italian and Thai cuisine, created interactively in a state-of-the-art show kitchen. Embracing a SLOW food concept, guests are feasting on locally-sourced and home grown ingredients with a proven provenance.
This week marked the hotel’s Buddhist blessing opening ceremony. As is tradition within Buddhist practice, as a new building, the hotel welcomed local monks to bless the building and all who stay there. Here are some pictures from the ceremony.
